Call of Duty Black Ops was developed by Treyarch, took the genre as first person shooter also the seventh installment of Call of Duty series. It was released on November 9, 2010 (World Wide) and on November 18, 2010 (Japan). The game was developed by Treyarch and distributed by Activision. Black Ops is a game series Call of Duty first to use the backdrop of the Cold War. This game has been released on 9 November 2010. This game can be played on Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. At the launch on 9 November, the game record sales within 24 hours with 5.6 million copies have been sold.

Character and Setting

Call of Duty: Black Ops took the background during the Cold War, in the 1960's. This story focuses on CIA secret operations behind enemy lines. The mission included taking places in all corners of the world are like the Ural Mountains in Russia, Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam. Single Player Games are made to reveal the secret Soviet biological weapons with name initials "Nova-6".

The player controls a lot of Special Forces operations Alex Mason and sometimes CIA agent Jason Hudson, and also other characters. Mason often worked with Frank Woods and Joseph Bowman, while Hudson teammates with Weaver Grigori, a Russian-born agent. Viktor Reznov, the main character of the Soviet campaign in World at War again. Russian protagonists of World At War, Dimitri Petrenko also make appearances. Black Ops also features historical figures, which met John F. Mason Kennedy, Robert McNamara, and Fidel Castro.

This game started when Mason, Frank Woods, and Joseph Bowman tried to kill Fidel Castro. Mason managed to kill Fidel Castro, but when they fled from there by plane, Mason left and the military detained Cuba and Fidel Castro of the original. Because it has formed an alliance with Russia, Castro handed over to General Nikita Mason Dragovich. Mason detained in Vorkuta Gulag for 2 years.

During his arrest, Mason met with Viktor Reznov (a character from Call of Duty: World at War), a former member of the Red Army. Mason tells Reznov idetitas people involved in the torture Mason: Dragovich, Lev Kravchenko, and a former Nazi scientist who defected to the Soviet Union, Friedrich Steiner. All three share a connection to Reznov: in October 1945, Reznow, Dragovich, Kravchenko, and Dimitri Petrenko is part of a member who was sent to find Steiner. During his mission, Reznov betrayed by Dragovich, who uses the invention Steiner, nerves equipment known as "Project Nova" on Petrenko. Reznov survived the British SAS commando attack. In the confusion, he destroyed the "New Project". The equipment was saved by Russia, which became known as "Nova-6". Shortly thereafter, Reznov imprisoned in Vorkuta. Mason and Reznov trigger rebellion in custody to escape from the gulag, but only a vague Mason.
