Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas (also known as GTA San Andreas or GTA: SA for a simple) is an action adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was first released for PlayStation 2 on October 26, 2004 and got a record as the best-selling game ever for PlayStation 2. And not until one year, it was released for Microsoft Windows or Personal Computer Game (PC) on June 7, 2005.

This game is a 3D game to-3 in Grand Theft Auto series, which to-5 on the release of consoles and games to-8 overall. Initially released for the PlayStation 2 in October 2004, the game was later released to the Xbox and Microsoft Windows, and receive acceptance and sales are high on these three platforms, and get the highest game sales record on the PlayStation 2. This game background on the fictitious state of San Andreas, which has three metropolitan cities. Set in late 1992, San Andreas revolves around gang member named Carl "CJ" Johnson returning home from Liberty City to Los Santos after learning her mother's death. CJ finds that old friends and family is a mess. Through the plot of the game, CJ gradually dismantle the plot behind the murder of his mother while developing their business. Like other games in the series, San Andreas consists of elements of driving games and third-person shooters, and gameplay features "world-open" that gives players more freedom to play. This game adds several features, such as modifications to the car, and personalization of characters, such as hairstyles, tattoos, etc.

Almost the same as another Grand Theft Auto series, San Andreas's sales success also has some controversy. Controversy of the most memorable was the mini game "Hot Coffee" which is found in the game Microsoft Windows, which initially disabled but binary code is not removed. This discovery led San Andreas re-ratified in the United States quickly became a mature rating game and cause the game is pulled from retailers' shelves.
