Criterion Games Studios has been able to prove themselves that they are able to create a game genre "arcade-racing" with the Burnout series. Therefore not surprising that Electronic Arts took the studio to work on the game Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2010. By focusing on illegal racing and police chase, Criterion tries to present Need For Speed series with his trademark over the years.
Gameplay
Unlike some previous Need For Speed series, in Hot Pursuit is the developer did not include elements of the storyline, where it is not a problem, since this is a Racing game. In Hot Pursuit we can act as Racer or the police in turn, where in each of these carrer we must strive to improve our ranking. We can obtain a maximum rank of 20, either as a cop as well as acting as Racer.
As Racer, we will be able to follow several events such as Race, Time Trial, Hot Pursuit (Of Course!) And Test Drive, where we are sometimes asked to test a particular car. Criterion brings back street racing which has been the hallmark of Need For Speed series, which of course in addition to trying to defeat our opponents, gamers also have to avoid the pursuit of confronting police. Meanwhile, if we act as policeman, then our task is to stop and arrest the illegal racers by any means.
Interestingly enough, in Hot Pursuit is our vehicle will be equipped with various weapons are sophisticated enough that we can use to block the opponent. Of course, these weapons are not weapons of sophisticated style and Bazzoka Tank, or other weapons like the ones in the game Blur. In Hot Pursuit of our cars will be equipped with 4 pieces of weapons, both as Racer as well as police.
