In an interview with Famitsu, creator of Shining RPG series who is Tsuyoshi Sawada reveals that Sega is currently preparing a new title from the series. Unfortunately he did not provide more specific information about the latest Shining game.

"Shining a longstanding series, but its development was stopped. We turn on and develop it back in line with the changing of the maker Sega hardware into software maker. The aim of the game that I’m doing is targeting a large userbase and creates something that has never existed in previous series. That is the direction which I still take today. "
