Tagline was immediately made me hooked to games produced by Kaos Studios developers of this. This FPS game set in America and this makes it different from the popular FPS games such as Call of Duty or Battlefield: Bad Company. Right in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 we had tasted a few levels where the hustle and bustle of the war occurred in the middle of American cities but a majority of the game (90% maybe?) Occurred outside of United States there. Homefront is different. You're going to struggle to maintain one hundred percent of the American invasion.

An Invasion

The game is set in the year 2027, 16 years into the future where the world's face changed completely. It all started in 2012 in which the health of Kim Jong Il continues to drop and eventually he died. In the same year his son Kim Jong Un immediately appointed a successor. Kim Jong Un is charismatic directly use its influence to hold, or rather the 'master' of South Korea. So where is America at that time?

World oil crisis occurred after the great fire of oil refinery in the Middle East due to the war. This crisis caused the American economy unstable. They were forced to withdraw its military forces including aircraft carriers stationed in Japan. Emptiness of this power put to good use by the Greater Korea (as a combination between North and South Korea) to Japan to annex and expand its influence throughout Southeast Asia. Worse again for America, economic collapse and the epidemic of the virus causing the bankruptcy of the country. When they usually shut out from Mexico, now is the turn for Mexico to close away from America!

Paradise Lost?

At the moment this is the weakening of the U.S. invasion started by the Greater Korea. Their first attack took Hawaii, San Francisco, and in a short time the big cities divided Americans captured by the enemy. The door was suddenly broken down your house and you were dragged into detention camps. Along the way you look at a couple who mugged by the Korean soldiers while their children look with fear. Then ... BANG! BANG! The wild cry of the little boy saw the death of his parents in front of her eyes that makes your blood boil I guarantee.

You're lucky because Resistance guerrillas managed to escape you before got to the detention camp. Now join them, you have to quell the Korean people. Can we?

My thumbs up for the story of this game. When viewed from its premise is clearly not possible actually, North Korea invaded America. I even doubt they are going to win a war when pitted against South Korea. I guess even tens of thousands of North Koreans have fled to neighboring countries going so there is an opportunity, rather than at war with that country. Basically there is no man who likes to be tamed is not it? That is the reason why the East Germans finally reunification with West Germany or the Soviet Union or China disintegrate eventually adapt the pattern of liberal. Yet the delivery of stories written by John Millius It describes step by step what happened so that future that seems impossible is to be quite reasonable.

But the Homefront is not just full of weakness really. One thing I salute is a very strong atmosphere of oppression throughout the game. We will see extraordinary cruelty of the Korean people with sadistic shoot anyone who opposed their regime. Slowly but surely we were led to understand the feelings of the Resistance, and most importantly feel the need to rise up to pierce the enemy's head. Funny thing is not setpiece action which is the most memorable in this game but the small moments. Crawl into the pile of corpses in order to avoid ambush Korean soldiers will be remembered as one of my most powerful moments of this year.

So my verdict is ... Homefront has the potential to be the beginning of the slick FPS franchise. All components are already there though its design hasn’t improved yet by Kaos Studios. I hope the Homefront 2 can be better later.
